This exciting, fast-paced event is designed to maximize action and competition. Games will be played cross-ice with boards set up on the blue lines. If we need to accommodate for additional teams, we will adjust the boards and utilize the center ice space.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
  • 4-Game Guarantee for all teams
  • Divisions: Teams will be grouped based on skill level, aligning with adult league classifications (e.g., E League for beginners up to advanced levels – A/B).
  • Pool Play: Teams will compete in pool play on Day 1 to determine seeding for playoffs on Day 2
  • Playoffs: Teams will be seeded based on points, with tiebreakers determined in the following order:
    1. Head-to-head result
    2. Goal differential
    3. Total goals scored
    4. Fewest goals allowed
  • Jerseys: Players are asked to bring a dark and light colored jersey.
GAME SETUP
  • Games will take place on two playing surfaces on opposite sides of the rink
  • Center ice will be designated for player warm-ups and staging (pending # of teams entered)
  • Ice is scheduled to be resurfaced after every three game slots
  • The scoreboard buzzer will be used to transition games, with no buffer time between games
GAME RULES
  • Period Length: One (1) 20-minute running-clock period
  • Warm-ups: Open warm-up before each game in player staging except for the first game of the day, which will have a dedicated 5-minute warm-up
  • Face-offs: Games begin with a center-ice face-off
  • Scoring Reset: After a goal, the scoring team must retreat to their defending goal posts, allowing the opposing team to advance the puck past center ice before engaging
  • No offsides or icing
  • No slap shots or lifting the puck above the knees
  • No body-checking is allowed during games. Any intentional, overt, or reckless body contact will result in a minor or major penalty.
  • Penalties:
    • Major penalties result in ejection from the game with no replacement
    • Fighting will result in tournament ejection with no replacement
PLAYOFF & CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
  • The playoff bracket will be determined based on pool play results
  • Games that end in a tie during pool play will remain tied, with no overtime
  • Playoff overtime will consist of a 5-minute, non-sudden victory period; if still tied, additional overtime periods will be played
  • Awards presented after the championship game
OTHER RULES
  • Skaters may only play on ONE team.
  • Max 7 players per team.
  • If at least 3 players are not present within 5 minutes of the scheduled start, the game is forfeited and the NON-OFFENDING team will be awarded a 15-0 victory.
  • The Home Team shall have first choice of which half of the ice to defend.
