FORMAT OF PLAY

Current USA Pickleball Rules will be in force during the tournament.

  • If you sign up to play as a partner team (men’s, woman’s, or mixed doubles) you will stay with your partner all games.
  • If you do the individual round robin on day 2 you will get a new partner and 2 new opponents for each game.

The format will be a Round-Robin. This means you will play all of the teams in your bracket.

Winning teams will be determined in the following order:

  1. Win/Loss Record
  2. Head-to-Head
  3. Point Differential

Necessary changes due to weather, court capacity, etc. will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

The Pickleball courts are outdoors.

Round Robin definition:

A Round Robin is structured play where players will compete in 6 doubles matches.  It is an Open Division – for anyone regardless of how they identify. Each match players will receive a new partner and 2 new opponents.  Each player is playing as an individual and the players with the most wins/head-to-head/points will be our Gold / Silver / Bronze Medal Winners for the Event.

Mini Singles definition:

  1. Mini-Singles is played on a standard pickleball court. B. An additional line must be provided that extends the centerline of the court through each non-volley zone. The color of this line is not required to be the same as the other court lines (e.g., if tape is used for the centerline extension.) C. Except as otherwise provided herein, Mini-Singles is played according to the same rules as Singles. D. The unique feature of Mini-Singles is that at each end, only one of the two courts (i.e., the right [even] or the left [odd] court) is “in play” during a rally. The courts that are in play are determined by the required player positions.
Arriving at the Plaza:

Take the elevator to the 5th floor.  The pickleball courts are next to the pool deck.

This includes behavior on and off the field at the venue site. The penalty for violations by a player is, at minimum, prompt ejection of the offender from the game. The offender must leave the field or spectator area immediately. If the offender refuses to leave, his/her team will forfeit that game. Penalties may also include suspension from following games.
