TOURNAMENT FORMAT

All participants in singles and doubles will compete in a 4-game round-robin tournament, followed by a double-elimination playoff.

  • Your win-loss record and points scored for and against will determine which playoff flight you enter.
  • The top half of participants from the round-robin will advance to the A Flight bracket.
  • The bottom half will enter the B Flight bracket.
  • Medals will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place in both brackets.
GAME RULES
 
Determining First Throw & Lane Assignments
  • The first player or team to throw is determined by flipping a coin or spinning a bag.
  • Lane assignments will be randomly generated using the Scoreholio app and displayed on the scoring tablet.
Singles Play
  • Player A competes against Player B (randomly assigned via Scoreholio).
  • Both players remain in their designated lane for the entire game.
  • The game begins at the headboard, alternating throws until all four bags are pitched.
  • Players then walk to the other end, record scores, and continue play.
  • An inning consists of both players completing their four throws.
Doubles Play
  • Team A competes against Team B (randomly assigned via Scoreholio).
  • Each team consists of two players who remain in their designated lane for the entire game.
  • Players at the headboard alternate pitching bags until all four bags are thrown.
  • Players at the footboard track scores and resume play in the opposite direction.
  • An inning consists of both headboard players completing their throws, followed by the footboard players.
SCORING RULES

All scores can be submitted via the tablet assigned to your court or reported to Cornhole Central.

  • Cancellation Scoring: Only one player/team can score per inning. The opponent’s points cancel out your points.
 
Point System
  • Bag On-The-Board: 1 point
    A bag that lands and stays on the board.
  • Bag In-The-Hole: 3 points
    A bag that goes through the hole or is knocked through by another bag.
  • Foul Bags: 0 points
    Any bag that does not meet the criteria for Bag On-The-Board or Bag In-The-Hole.
  • Bags violating any official rules will also be considered foul.

PLAY ELIGIBILITY

  • All players must have ID on them at the sport facilities for roster checks. If a player does not have ID available, they will not be allowed to play.

  • Eligibility and IDs will be strictly enforced throughout the tournament.

REGISTRATION

  • Team Registration Deadline:
    Mon. 7/1/25
    Note: We only need one person from the team to register by this date (i.e. coach), so that we can build the brackets.
  • Guaranteed Shirt Deadline:
    Mon. 7/7/25
    Registrants after this date will select from the available shirts, on a first come, first serve basis at check-in.

  • Late Registration begins:
    Mon. 7/21/25
    Registration on and after this date will incur a $10 late fee.
